Virginia and Tony lovingly and carefully created this Full Filigree Glass Vase at their glassblowing studio in Halton Hills, On. These objects are one of Virginia's favourite things to make. The Filigrana vases are highly collectible. They are in many private and public collections throughout the world.

This beautiful, decorative Full Filigree Glass Vase looks beautiful on any surface. Placed in the sunlight it is stunning and shows off the patterns and colours.

Virginia selects the glass rods carefully to match in size, twist and pattern. The rods go on a fire proof plate and arranged to display a distinct pattern. They are fused and picked up on the glassblowing pipe. There after, formed and blown into the desired shape and size. This creates a uniquely formed pattern throughout the pear.

Glass masters Filippo and Bernardo Catani  invented the Ancient glass making techniques used in this process in 1526. This elaborate pattern making technique was laborious and difficult to perform. Filigree Glass was rare. This made it suitable for only the uppermost tables of society. It was befitting of Kings and Queens at the time.

Your beautiful glass vase will come in a gift box accompanied by an artist's card.

Here we have a lovely soft greenish yellow full filigree glass vase blown with perfectly executed Zanfirico glass canes alternating with Latticino canes. A Black lip wrap and black foot compliment and finish off the piece beautifully.
